Trivia Question❓Which mineral, found abundantly in pumpkin seeds and oysters, holds the record for being involved in the largest number of enzymatic reactions in the human body — over 300 — making it essential for everything from immune function and wound healing to DNA synthesis and protein production? Answer at the bottom of the newsletter |
Interesting History: Nutrition of the Ocean & The Last Leaded Fuel Still Harming Children |
Something you may not know is that for decades I've been rather obsessed with mineral supplementation. One of the best historical stories about minerals is about Rene Quinton and that's the main subject of today's feature article.
You'll also get an introduction to marine phytoplankton, which has been one of my (not so) secret weapons in my arsenal of healthful nutrition. And next week we should have the new Marine Phytoplankton products fully packaged and ready to present to you.
Much more info is coming of course about this but suffice it to say for now that one of these products is the same strain that I've personally taken for the last decade.
The other article today is about leaded aviation fuel and how it is affecting lead toxicity in children especially in schools or homes near small plane airports.

Thank you for reading and wishing you the best in these crazy times.

René Quinton reportedly replaced a dog's blood with diluted seawater in 1897. The dog story remains an anecdote, but the case for filtered seawater never depended on it: four randomized trials have measured real effects from the minerals, and the organisms the ocean actually runs on are phytoplankton, the drifting cells responsible for roughly half the base nutrition of the ocean. Joke Of The Day |
My naturopath told me the ocean has a cure for everything, so I went for a swim. Now I have a cold, a rash, and a consultation with a different naturopath. Turns out "salt water heals all wounds" doesn't cover the wound to your ego when a seagull steals your kelp supplements. |

Every country on earth finished phasing out leaded gasoline for cars by 2021. One leaded fuel survived: 100LL aviation gasoline, which powers most of America's roughly 170,000 piston-engine airplanes and is now the largest single source of lead to the nation's air. Children near one busy California airport show measurably higher, dose-responsive blood lead, in a range where the pooled science finds no safe level. The EPA declared the danger in 2023; the FAA's transition plan targets 2030. Read More... |
