Trivia Question❓

In energy medicine, what is the term for the body's subtle energy system that consists of chakras, meridians, and aura?

Going Deeper Unlocking Amygdalin's Potential: Cardioprotective & Microbiome Benefits of Amygdalin and Apricot Seeds

This week we're going deeper into the latest research on amygdalin and something you should know about this is when I dig deep into the research to write and reference these articles I learn more and more about these superfood compounds (nitrilosides).

If you get these newsletters and read through them real quick I totally understand, there is so much going on in the world right now it's hard to keep up with it all. But keep in mind that on the otherside of each of these little intros are typically a 2000+ word article with 8 or 10 (typically clickable) scientific references, mostly on pubmed.

One of the articles this week is just shy of 3000 words! And to be clear it's quite apparent to me that some of this has some scientific jargon but I always try to simplify it after a paragraph that gets rather scientific.

This week continues our series on amygdalin which again matches with our Spring B17 Chocolate Closeout Sale that's also the sponsor for the newsletters. You can check that out at https://JoshuaParker.net/seeds

This week we have an article about the cardioprotective effects of amygdalin, which combined with the pangamic acid also contained in apricot seeds makes the apricot seed a very important food for cardiovascular health (more research on pangamic acid/B15 in my free online course at https://ForbiddenFood.tv)

Next we have the microbiome connection with amygdalin and how this explains differences in potential when dosing amygdalin orally.

Hoping you enjoy these deep articles on amygdalin, likely going deeper than any articles you're likely to find online anywhere else!

Next week I'll be taking a much needed break so you won't be seeing a newsletter from me but the series will resume the following week with at least two more articles on amygdalin before we return to a more diverse set of articles.

While I'm gone I will be closing the cart on the B17 Chocolate and bundles which include chocolate. Depending on how hot it is when I return, there's a chance I'll ship some more B17 Chocolate but it's rather unlikely.

So these next few days are likely your last chance to get B17 Chocolate before the fall!

Discover the surprising cardioprotective effects of amygdalin: from reducing arsenic trioxide cardiac toxicity to activating the AMPK/SIRT1/PGC-1α longevity pathway. Learn how this 'dangerous' compound enhances antioxidant enzymes, suppresses inflammation, and triggers mitochondrial biogenesis across multiple organ systems.

The amygdalin conversation has been hijacked entirely by the cancer debate, as if this molecule exists solely to trigger academic arguments about alternative oncology. But they don't tell you about the compound's broader effects on cardiovascular health, oxidative stress, inflammation, cellular energy production, and metabolic optimization. They don't mention the growing evidence for systemic benefits that extend far beyond tumor cells, nevermind the over 1200 related nitriloside compounds found throughout the plant kingdom.

After all, if amygdalin is simply a toxic cyanide bomb waiting to poison anyone who touches it - as critics frantically claim - how do you explain its protective effects against chemotherapy-induced heart damage? How do you explain enhanced mitochondrial biogenesis, improved antioxidant enzyme expression, and reduced inflammatory markers?

Quote Of The Day

"Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many times I fell down and got back up again." - Nelson Mandela

In honor of the season and the deep dive into amygdalin research for the next couple newsletters the sponsor is our spring closeout sale on the B17 Chocolate and Eat Apricot Seeds bundle products. All products are on sale now!

There's no coupon code needed, discounts are automatic and very deep especially on some products.

Don't delay, this may be the last week to order B17 Chocolate before we close the cart for the heat of the summer to avoid melted deliveries!

Tip of The Day

Drink plenty of water with minerals throughout the day to help keep your energy levels up and support your body's natural healing processes while improving the conductivity extending out to your biofield.

Discover why gut bacteria are the hidden variable in amygdalin therapy: how beta-glucosidase-producing microbes activate the compound, why patients respond so differently, and how cutting-edge nanoparticle delivery systems eliminate bacterial unpredictability for precision tumor targeting.

Your gut bacteria might hold the key to unlocking amygdalin's therapeutic potential - or its toxic risk. But they don't tell you that the difference between poison and medicine may come down entirely to which microbial species are colonizing your intestines, metabolizing your food, and producing the enzymes that activate or detoxify natural compounds.

After all, amygdalin doesn't work in isolation. It's a prodrug - an inactive precursor requiring metabolic conversion to become active. And that transformation depends critically on an enzyme, beta-glucosidase, produced not by your human cells but by cancer cells, and in small amounts potentially by your gut microbiota. You're not just treating a human - you're treating a superorganism composed of human cells plus trillions of bacterial partners.

The Bacterial Enzyme That Changes Everything

Amygdalin is a prodrug in the truest sense: biologically inactive until cleaved by specific enzymes. When you consume amygdalin orally - whether from apricot kernels, bitter almonds, or pharmaceutical preparations - it passes through your stomach largely intact, protected by its glycosidic bonds from acid hydrolysis. The real transformation happens in the intestines, where bacterial metabolism takes over.

Specific bacterial species produce beta-glucosidase, the enzyme that cleaves amygdalin's glycosidic bonds sequentially: first removing one glucose unit to form prunasin, then cleaving the second glucose to release benzaldehyde and hydrogen cyanide. The key species include Lactobacillus strains (particularly L. plantarum and L. rhamnosus), Bifidobacterium species (B. longum, B. adolescentis), Bacteroides species, and certain Clostridium strains.

The key here, just like the difference between medicine and poison, is the dose. The dose of conversion is going to depend on how much of the specific strains of gut bacteria an individual has and how much conversion thus takes place.
